Lorena Sargent
Lorena Sargent was born and raised in Caracas-Venezuela, where she obtained her Law Degree in 2007. She also has obtained specializations in Commercial Law in Bogota- Colombia (2009), International Contracting and Negotiation in Santiago de Chile -Chile (2010), and Corporate Law in Caracas – Venezuela (2014). In February 2020, she was admitted to Washington University in St. Louis to start a Master of Laws online program. With a partial scholarship awarded for standing out in her application, she will be starting her classes in April 2020.
She moved to North Carolina in July 2016 and obtained her Real Estate License in 2017. While she was working as Realtor, she became involved with the Hispanic Communities in the Raleigh area. She soon realized the needs in her community, and alongside a group of fellows Venezuelans, created a nonprofit organization that helps to guide and counsel Hispanic Communities that are new to the Raleigh area.
Lorena is passionate about immigration, since she has been through several immigration process in different countries where she has lived. She enjoys outdoor reading, watching movies with her husband, and hiking with her beagle dog (Leif). If you see her around, do not hesitate to say hi, since she enjoys socializing and meeting new people.
Lorena Sargent nació y creció en Caracas-Venezuela, donde ella obtuvo su título de abogada en el 2007. Tambien ha cursado especializaciones en Derecho Comercial en Bogotá-Colombia (2009), Contratos y Negociación Internacional en Santiago de Chile-Chile (2010), y Derecho Corporativo en Caracas-Venezuela (2014). En febrero 2020, fue admitida en la Universidad de Washington en St. Louis para comenzar una especialización en derecho de manera online. Con una beca parcial otorgada por su destacada aplicación, ella comenzara sus clases el mes de abril 2020.
Lorena se mudó a Carolina del Norte en Julio del 2016 y obtuvo su licencia como agente de bienes y raíces en 2017. Mientras ella trabajaba como agente de bienes y raíces, se involucró con la comunidad hispana que hace vida en la ciudad de Raleigh. Ella pronto se dio cuenta de las necesidades de su comunidad, y junto a un grupo de venezolanos, formaron una organización sin fines de lucro que ayuda a informar y guiar a la comunidad hispana que recién llega al área.
Lorena le apasiona el tema de inmigración desde que le ha tocado vivir diferentes procesos en diferentes países donde ha vivido. Ella disfruta de leer al aire libre, ver películas con su esposo, e ir a escalar con su perro Beagle (Leif). Si la ves en los alrededores no dudes en saludarla, ya que ella disfruta de socializar y conocer nuevas personas.
